I raced Harry Rosen 8k this past Sunday. I have raced the past three weekends in a row. I am still working on getting my butt back into some sort of fitness. I have taken a get out there and race but be patient attitude. It seems to be working. I felt good on Sunday I placed 6th female and ran 30:14. It is still a ways off from my PB 8k time but I enjoyed the race and felt like I could maintain a good effort and finish strong up the hill to the finish. Congrats to everyone that raced! Congrats to all the Point Grey Team! I am looking forward to the next three weeks of good training and then racing the Sun Run 10k April 21.
Running Into Yoga Friday Night run group is getting more popular as the weather gets warmer and the sun is shining bright into the evening. Come out and join us this Friday for a fun interval session and some Yoga.

Last weekend I travelled to Vancouver Island to race the Bazan Bay 5k. I was unsure when I should throw myself back into a race. I had to take Oct, Nov and some of Dec off last year from a ankle injury. It has been frustrating and a bit of a struggle getting back into shape but I have been practicing patience. Going into every workout I remind myself this is one more step to getting back into shape. I have been focusing more on the effort and less on times.
The whole routine of preparing for a race excites me. On Sunday I stayed really relaxed with no expectations. I was pleased to run 18:10 and finish strong. Finishing the race was a feeling of relief and I was so happy and proud of myself. It was not about the time but proud of myself for getting through the injury then having patience and dedication coming back from it. Super K had a outstanding race running 15:15 and a big PB for Sabrina Wilkie running 16:41. Ryan Brockerville was a very close second place, PB’s for Kevin F, Ryan Huff, Mark W, Dylan G, Trevor, Aaron, Shannon, and Jenn. Way to Go! Congrats to everyone that raced!
