Race Preparation

The past few days have  been preparation for the Steveston icebreaker 8k.  I was not feeling so good in the beginning of   week.  I spoke with Jon Wednesday night and we switched up my schedule a bit.  I had Thursday off from running.  That was a nice treat as it poured rain all day.  Friday I slept in a bit and headed out at 9am for a short workout (3x 3 min @ 10k 90′ rest).  I started the first 3′ at the Inukshuk.   I turned around after the 2nd 3′ and was at a standstill from the wind.  I slowed a alot but figured I did not need to push anyways so close to the race.  I feel ready for Sunday now I just need to stay relaxed and not think about the race till Sunday morning.

This morning I woke up to a beautiful sunny morning.  Shiba and I headed out for a 30′ easy run.  It was such a nice peaceful run.  I taught the 12 pm Hot class at Flow.  It was not to busy everyone must be out enjoying the beautiful weather.  I am going for a nice walk in the sunshine before the rain starts again tonight.  I picked up my number at Forerunners and am ready to race 830 am tomorrow.  I love this quote I took from Ellie’s blog:  If you want to become the best runner you can be, start now. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering if you can do it’.
